Dear YWCA Leaders,
The Call to Council was issued on the 21st November last year, and the constitutional amendments and nominations to the Board and Nominations Committee processes are underway. We are only eight (8) months away from the 30th World Council, which for the first time, will take place in a virtual setting from Monday, 27 November 2023 to Friday, 1 December 2023.
Given the online nature of World Council 2023, we understand that there will be many questions that #YWCALeaders, especially the heads of delegations and voting delegates, will have. With this in mind, we will be holding three (3) online informative sessions to answer any queries and/or listen to any suggestions you may have.
With the focus on the preparations and next steps toward World Council 2023, the first edition of the three (3) informative and Q&A sessions will take place through Zoom on the following dates and times. If you have not yet, please register now using the links below and share this invitation with other #YWCALeaders:
All sessions will be facilitated in English with interpretation support in French and Spanish. If your associations would like to offer support with interpretation in any other language, please reach us in advance at worldcouncil@worldywca.org.
Join us! Your voices and engagement in the World YWCA decision making mechanisms are crucial in building a modernised, relevant, sustainable, and vital global World YWCA movement to achieve Goal 2035!

On December 10, 2022 #RiseUp! Young Women Leads (YWLs) of YWCA Nepal have conducted the “Alumna Meet and Greet” amongst the batch of Rise Up I, II, III, and IV including the Master Trainers and Peer Educators of Rise Up!-IV Year 1.
This fellowship was conducted to take constructive suggestions and feedback for the implementation year 2. The former batches shared how the Rise Up! Program impacted their life and family as a whole. All the sharings and suggestions were very practical and equally contextual for the coming year as well.

As a part of #RiseUp Transformative Leadership approach we are immensely glad to share some of the glimpses of local level community workshop at one of the targeted communities - Boson. On behalf of Nepal Mahila Bishwasi Sangh - YWCA of Nepal, 2 of the selected young master trainers from their own community led the entire program from october 11-15, 2022.
22 community girls were benefited from this training. It was wonderful learning experience to all of us.

We had the pleasure of rolling out the feminist consultation methodology in Kenya under #YW4A. Ours was an intergenerational approach combining WRO leads and young women leads. The session had the pleasure of learning at the feet of giants :) award winning poet Sitawa walked the group through the story telling and its use in the work we do. Such a pleasure!
Wohoo! What amazing images. Sitawa is such a rockstar.

On July 22, 2022 NMBS (YWCA Nepal) has organized the gathering of young women leaders from different walks of life and communities. To make Rise Up! more impactful, orientation was given to them, along with this needs assessment was also done in a group. What a great engaging and insightful session it was! Listening to their experiences and sharing our thoughts on playing the role of change agent in the communities were major agendas of this gathering.

Rise Up! - Nepal
On 12th July 2022 NMBS- YWCA Nepal has conducted a “Safe Space” session amongst the Young Women from different communities.
The Young Leads of Nepal have led the session by following the safe space protocol and guide.
Under the safe space module, the discussion was primarily centered around menstrual stigma / taboos and other socio-cultural norms and values that are existing as hindrances for the overall well being and growth of young girls and women.
The entire session was so engaging, interactive and fun.
